Desired Pro Found: iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max Available for Sale
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are now on sale. Apple's new Pro models are available in four color options: black, silver, ice blue, and the new series color, burgundy.
Apple's Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, Greg Joswiak, describes the new Pro series consisting of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max as follows:
With the iPhone 18 Pro, we have made advancements in the areas that our users value the most: camera, performance, battery, and smartphone capabilities. We didn't just make incremental improvements in these areas; we took significant steps to create the best Pro iPhone we've ever made. The iPhone 18 Pro makes it easier for everyone to capture stunning photos and videos with its variable aperture, providing more flexibility for content creators and greater control for professionals. Combined with impressive upgrades in Photo Styles and powerful video features, the iPhone 18 Pro opens up entirely new ways for users to express themselves.
48MP Fusion Camera Experience
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max come with the best camera system Apple has developed to date for professionals and content creators. The camera hardware of both models is the same; so no matter which model you choose, you will get the same photo and video quality.
Variable Aperture: A First on iPhone
48 MP Fusion main camera comes with a variable aperture for the first time in iPhone history. The laser-cut six-blade adjusts the aperture from ƒ/1.48 to ƒ/4. The camera offers four different aperture values:
- ƒ/1.48: Wider aperture for low-light environments and Night mode. More light enters the sensor.
- ƒ/1.8: The default value in portrait shots; blurs the background naturally.
- ƒ/2.8 ve ƒ/4: Ideal for keeping everyone in focus in crowded group photos and preventing overexposure when shooting video in sunny weather.
Thanks to the new sensor and image processing infrastructure, better photos and videos can be taken in low light, with sharper details throughout the frame. The variable aperture is only available on the Main camera. The apertures of the Ultra Wide and Telephoto cameras are fixed.
Full Manual Control with Pro Controller
The Pro controls coming to the Camera app on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max offer a customizable new experience. Users can access their most frequently used settings more easily than ever. Lens aperture, shutter speed, and white balance can be adjusted manually; exposure levels can also be monitored throughout the scene with a histogram. These controls, previously found in professional cameras or third-party apps, are now available directly in the iPhone's own Camera app.
Photographic Styles 3
Photographic Styles 3 brings texture and grain settings. Users can create unique looks by adjusting not only colors and skin tones but also the texture of the photo and the film-like grain.
Apple Reference Image: The Authenticity of the Photo Can Now Be Proven
The Apple Reference Image feature that comes with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max makes it possible to prove whether a captured photo is original. This feature works thanks to the new sensor that can sign every pixel in the main camera.
When a photo is taken in the New Reference mode, the camera records signed sensor data. Private Cloud Compute then converts this data into an unalterable reference image. The reference image can be displayed alongside the original photo in the Photos app, similar to a digital negative. This way, the two images can be easily compared side by side to determine whether any edits have been made to the photo. Thanks to the new APIs in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, third-party applications can also display these reference images.
Additional Protection Against Images Generated by Artificial Intelligence
Image metadata and the upcoming SynthID support will help detect images that have been created or edited with artificial intelligence. Developed by Google DeepMind, SynthID is a standard that adds an invisible digital watermark to AI-generated content. Along with the Apple Reference Image, these features secure image authenticity in multiple ways for photojournalists, photographers, and everyday users. In an era where fake and manipulated visuals are spreading rapidly, this is one of the most notable innovations of the iPhone 18 Pro series.
Smaller, More Convenient Dynamic Island
The Dynamic Island has been redesigned on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max thanks to advanced display technology, making room for more information. The new Dynamic Island can now display three Live Activities simultaneously. Face ID is also integrated into the Dynamic Island; unlocking the phone, confirming purchases, and logging into apps continue to be done securely.
First Capture, Then Cinematize
Even after finishing shooting with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, cinematic mode effects can still be added to videos. Cinematic mode now supports up to 60 frames per second; this means much smoother, film-like visuals in dynamic scenes.
Variable Aperture Makes a Difference in Video
The variable aperture in the camera automatically adjusts itself according to light and depth of field while recording video. A balanced image is achieved in every frame, from everyday shots to cinematic videos. With the Pro controls in the camera app, the shutter speed can also be manually adjusted, allowing for fast movements to be captured clearly and in detail.
Better Videos in Low Light
The iPhone 18 Pro camera system intelligently adjusts the aperture and frame rate in low light or indoor settings. The result: brighter and clearer videos even in dim lighting.
4K Accelerated Shooting with Dolby Vision HDR
Accelerated (time-lapse) videos can now be recorded in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision HDR. Much more detail is captured in scenes like sunsets, city traffic, or cloud movements.
Why Sound: Separate the Noise, Hear the Music
The Voice Mixing, powered by new algorithms, separates the speech and music in the video from unwanted background noise. For example, in a concert recording, the music performance can be isolated from surrounding sounds, allowing each note to be heard clearly.
Dual Shot video
You can record video with both the front and rear cameras at the same time. This way, you can capture both yourself and everything happening around you in a single video. It's an ideal feature for vlogs and social media content.
Pro Video Features for Filmmakers
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max also offer professional video tools:
- ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2: Maximum flexibility for color grading after editing
- Genlock: Full synchronization in shooting with multiple cameras
- 120 fps 4K Dolby Vision: Cinema quality in HDR images
Result: iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max?
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max represent one of the biggest steps we've seen in Apple's Pro series in years. The variable aperture 48 MP Fusion camera, Pro controls, Photographic Styles 3, and professional video tools transform the iPhone into a true creative device. Apple Reference Image makes it possible to prove the authenticity of photos; the smaller Dynamic Island, A20 Pro chip, and iOS 27 also make daily use smarter.
The camera, performance, and artificial intelligence features of the two models are the same. If you are looking for a more compact phone, the iPhone 18 Pro might be the right choice. If battery life is a priority for you, the iPhone 18 Pro Max stands out as it offers the largest increase in battery life in iPhone history.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, available in black, silver, ice blue, and new burgundy color options, are now on sale.
